Your journey begins at a traditional Cuban café in the Latin Quarter, where we’ll gather over a classic cafecitoand dive into the rich history and cultural significance of the neighborhood. From there, we’ll walk along the iconic Calle Ocho, taking in the vibrant energy of the street as we visit historic landmarks like the Bay of Pigs Memorial and Domino Park. Along the way, you’ll see vintage cars, colorful murals, and free-roaming roosters that reflect the everyday charm of the neighborhood. I’ll share the stories, traditions, and personal connections that bring the Cuban-American identity of Little Havana to life. We’ll stop to enjoy an empanada from a beloved local spot, then later visit a family-run market for a refreshing sample of seasonal, fresh-squeezed local fruit juice. As we continue, you’ll get a taste of some of the neighborhood’s most iconic snacks, including a savory croqueta and a flaky pastelito, a Cuban pastry filled with sweet or savory goodness. Our walk includes a brief stop at a live music venue, where the sounds of Cuban rhythms bring the street to life and capture the neighborhood’s festive spirit. To complement the moment, we’ll enjoy a freshly made mojito and take in the atmosphere as locals dance, play dominoes, and gather in the community’s most beloved public spaces. We’ll conclude the tour at a family-owned cigar shop, where you’ll meet a master cigar roller. In this hands-on session, you’ll feel the texture of high-quality tobacco leaves, learn about the traditional art of cigar making, and roll your very own cigar under expert guidance. You’ll also learn proper cutting and lighting techniques, with time to take a photo alongside the master roller. At the end of the experience, you’ll leave with the cigar you crafted - an unforgettable keepsake from your time in Little Havana.
